They have a Mission Statement which is :
To connect people with ideas and information that foster lifelong learning, understanding and enjoyment;
To manage public resources efficiently, economically and to the best advantage of the taxpayers and cardholders of the library district;
To cooperate with other organizations and agencies to promote personal and community growth and development;
To advocate for quality library and information services.
This mission statement was adopted: November 18, 2000 and was drawn up by the Jefferson County Library Board of Trustees

They provide a comprehensive network of all library services including borrowing facilities of fiction and non fiction books , provide a comprehensive research facility including access to old records and newspaper archives ,CDS , videos , online reservations and information . They run school vacation programs , story time for babies, delivery of books to house bound clients and full range of modern technology based services including access to internet , PC’s and video games .
Many clubs and information sessions are conducted by all the libraries.
